Royal Wedding on YouTube and Google Earth 3D

The royal wedding day is fast approaching, and it will be a historic day in more ways than one.  It is to be the first of the internet age, opening up a whole host of new ways to watch and interact with the much-anticipated wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Google has already announced the expansion of its Google Earth 3D imagery, which will offer a 'Royals'-eye' view of the wedding procession.  It has now been announced by the royal household that they will be live streaming footage of the whole ceremony on their YouTube channel.

The stream will begin at 10:00 BST and will show the wedding procession, marriage ceremony and balcony kiss, the coverage will also be accompanied by a live blog commentary.  The Royal Channel already has nearly 40,000 subscribers and for those wishing to send their congratulations, there is even a video guestbook allowing well-wishers to upload a video message to the couple.

SEO experts will be interested to learn that Google has reported the top ten countries searching for 'royal wedding', in addition to the UK and US, include Singapore and the Philippines.

The British monarchy showing its acceptance of and immersion in the digital age, means this momentous day in British history will be accessible to more people than ever before.  The marriage of Princess Margaret 50 years ago was the first royal wedding to be broadcast on TV, but the marriage of our future King will be marked as the first truly interactive one.
