SEO or PPC for Your Business

SEO or PPC for Your Business

There are two main or common ways to generate website traffic. One is SEO or search engine optimisation, which utilises specific keywords that are directly related to your business. The other way to generate website traffic is PPC, or pay per click which displays your advertisement on sponsored websites.

Both methods are very effective for generating website traffic, getting your product out there and attracting potential customers. Something to consider, however, is which one is more effective for your business, SEO or PPC? There is a way to implement both options on your website, though, each does bring with it its own pros and cons that may not be in the best interest of your business.

The most obvious of differences between the two are time. PPC can be up and running within a few days, advertising your product and drawing in traffic. SEO, on the other hand, takes several months for progress to be noticed. If, however, you are running a short-term promotion or you are a new website and want to get in the game fast, PPC can probably offer what you're looking for.

If you're looking to have PPC implemented as a permanent way for your website to generate traffic, you need to keep in mind that PPC will also generate a permanent cost for your website. This does not mean that it will not eventually be cost-effective. SEO on the other hand, does not have a permanent cost in the same way. If you have a well maintained website with extensive content, you can easily achieve a constant flow of website traffic through this avenue.
