They say a picture speaks a thousand words and in SEO and online ranking; it does so much more! Images are greatly growing in importance and more so within social media marketing. In fact, visual content is now so important to the social platform that Facebook's latest redesign was greatly influenced by images.

Think of every time you see a picture, or take a picture; would it be fair to state that one of the first thoughts to appear in your mind is 'would that be good enough as a profile picture?' It is safe to say that the role of images has grown rapidly and now more so, thanks to the rise of social platforms including Pinterest and Instagram.

As a business owner are you doing everything in your power to make the most of the growing importance of visual imagery?

There seems to appear a common myth; that certain business of a more serious nature i.e. legal firms, cannot market themselves in such visually enticing ways however, that is far from the case. • Once you have established which image types work best; then perhaps it would be best to gather a collection together and archive them on your social sites.
• Experiment a little and try and take your own picture too; you don't have to be Annie Leibovitz to take a good snap shot!
• Integrate all of your images across your online marketing avenues. Whether it is your website, a blog, a Twitter page or Facebook profile; make the most of your images, anywhere and everywhere possible.
• People love to share their experiences so why not encourage your fans, followers and likers to share their images?
