Ethical SEO

In the online universe it is easy to get carried away and do just what we want to get ourselves noticed but if you're delving into planet SEO then the "anything and everything" motto just won't cut it.
Welcome to the next chapter in our SEO guide where we explain, step by step, the complexities of search engine optimisation and help you understand just what is involved, how much work it can take to successfully implement a strategy and the results that businesses can reap.
The beauty of the world wide web lies in its anonymity; people hide behind their screens and do whatever they need to do in order to get noticed but when implementing an SEO strategy it is vital that businesses and their marketing teams are aware that all actions should be conducted ethically or they face losing credibility and risk breaking search engine rules.
The main focus of your SEO campaign is to grow your brand name and increase your client base and that can only be done by establishing a level of trust. The use of company logos and accreditation labels will establish basic credibility but business owners need to ensure their websites and social media sites have quite a few other bits up to scratch.
Having incomplete or no contact details on your website will leave visitors concerned as to the existence of your company. Include as many details as you can; business addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses will provide reassurance and boost your local search results!
Are you doing anything to build a reputation? Sometimes a little extra boost is needed and customers always need proof as to just how good a company really is so encourage but also keep a track on customer feedback on your social media sites and your website. Ensuring you have a very real appeal will reinforce your brand motto to potential customers and in effect encourage sales.
Don't use unethical techniques when it comes to the hard hitting SEO side. Poor quality content stuffed with keywords, using inappropriate keyword just for the sake of search engine boost, using invisible text or worst of all; link spamming is going to do nothing to reinforce your brand to your customers, nothing to prove your credibility and if anything it is simply going to tick of Google and get you on the most wanted list…definitely not worth the risk!
If you have an online presence and want to make it count then keep it clean and ethical and you can't go wrong; play the wise guy and you will soon find it coming back to hit you where it hurts.
