The Bad Habits of Blogging

In search engine optimisation, content is king. Good quality and relevant content is the fundamental factor in an SEO strategy. Blog posts are a highly sought after platform, that if done right have the ability to target and entice users whilst all the while providing high quality, natural links that can provide an exceptional boost to rankings.

As mentioned blogging is a great way to boost SEO rankings which is why everyone is jumping on the bandwagon…but we can't help but notice that more and more bloggers are falling into that horrible pattern and making those oh so stereotypical mistakes that leave them falling into a deep dark hole.

Remember that in SEO the best content is that which is structured around industry keywords so we wonder why people think puns, metaphors and clever little mixes make the ideal titles? People won't use these clever titles in their Google search which means the odds of your blog getting picked up will decrease tenfold. Make sure your title sticks to search engine rules or it risks ending up in a big black hole.

When creating a blog people don't just go for that rant that is nothing more then a personal opinion. Using links you can prove your point and increase your traffic…everyone's a winner.

Give a little time and effort to your pieces. Many have the tendency to leave posts just sitting there in a mess. Take the time to ensure your piece is set out neatly, is accompanied by images, descriptions etc. the better your posts look, the better chance you have of achieving actual results.

Most importantly ensure that your posts are regular; do a disappearing act and so to will your audience …it's as simple as that.

These are just a few of our blogging pet peeves. It plays such a crucial role in SEO so why not do it right?

If you've got a blogging pet peeve that we've missed out then let us know!
